- Performance/Animation: 10pts Animation techniques are distinct and refined at a consistent and daily progression. Transformations take place in time that allow the audience to experience the transitions into concepts and ultimately into the next portrait.
GRADUATES:
Create a 30 second animated self portrait that is based on various animation techniques (Cell, Symbol, Motion etc) that transforms into: Alter Ego, Totem, Symbolic representation of an image or symbol.
UNDERGRADS:
Create a 20 second animated self portrait that is based on various animation techniques (Cell, Symbol, Motion etc) that transforms into: Totem, Symbolic representation of an image or symbol.

- What type of “Self” would you want to express? i.e. an Ideal, Surreal, Personal, Real?
- What visually do you want to express to your audience?
- What internally (totem, inner truth, pain) do you wish to transform into and what is the meaning behind such image?
Post at least one link/image of a Portrait from an artist, and express why it connects to you personally and conceptually.
Post a (totem, symbolic character or any relevant image) that you believe best represents the concept of what you will transform your self image into.
Transformation: possible themes
Transformation: your portrait will transform, metaphorically, physically into key moments and ultimately match the final frame of the artist after you.
Totem: symbolic animal that represents something about your inner self.
Empathy/Pain: A life experience or inner truth that you may reveal in a symbolic way.
Dream: a dream or subconscious vision you may want to reveal.
Heritage: Cultural background that connects within at a deeper level.
